This image is perhaps a reflection on the multi-cultural melting pot that is London today. The capital is dull and colourless behind the vibrant, colourful jostling crowd that have gathered on the south bank. Blake’s choice of location for the crowd could echo the buzz of people and entertainment that takes place on the south bank every day.

Blake is an avid collector of memorabilia and images, both nostalgic and contemporary. His collages are meticulously assembled from old post cards, magazines and every other imaginable source and he cuts out each creature, object or character with tiny scissors.
